The Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards will be hosted by comedian and broadcaster Matt Richardson at West Midlands Safari Park on Thursday 26 November, organisers have confirmed. The ceremony will recognise apprentices, employers and training providers across the county who have helped to develop skills and support local employment.
Who is running the awards
The awards form part of the Worcestershire Apprenticeships programme, a partnership between Worcestershire Local Enterprise Partnership (LEP) and Worcestershire County Council. The scheme aims to back local skills development and job opportunities through apprenticeship routes.
How to take part and the deadline
With nominations still being accepted, the Worcestershire Apprenticeships team has urged final entries before the closing date on Friday 17 July. Entry categories are open to apprentices, employers, schools and training providers that have made a significant impact over the last year. Further details and the online nomination form are available via the Worcestershire Apprenticeships website.

"I am really looking forward to being the host for the 2026 Worcestershire Apprenticeships Awards,"
Matt Richardson said he was excited to guide attendees through the evening as the county celebrates achievements in apprenticeships.
Local councillors and business leaders have also encouraged entries. Dan Boatright-Greene, the county council's cabinet member for education, SEND and skills, described it as his first time attending the awards in that role and urged people to nominate those they feel deserve recognition. Gary Woodman, chief executive of Worcestershire LEP, similarly encouraged prospective entrants to put forward nominations before the deadline.
Why it matters locally
The awards aim to highlight the contribution that apprentices and employers make to the county's economy by developing workforce skills and creating employment pathways. For smaller businesses and training providers, public acknowledgement at county level can boost profiles and support future recruitment. For apprentices, recognition can mark significant progress early in a career.
