Stirling swimmer Adam Ramsay-Peaty has moved through to the semi-finals of the men’s 50 metre breaststroke at the Commonwealth Games in Glasgow after producing a composed swim on Sunday.
Quick recovery after 100m bronze
Ramsay-Peaty, who had been visibly emotional after taking bronze in the 100m breaststroke on Saturday, returned to the pool and posted a time of 27.27 seconds in his heat. That was enough to finish fifth-fastest overall and secure a place in the evening’s semi-final session.
The Stirling swimmer edged out Jersey youngster Filip Nowacki, who clocked 27.29 and had finished ahead of Ramsay-Peaty earlier in the programme at the shorter distance.
