Teams from Bradford Council and West Yorkshire Police have cleared a run of nuisance vehicles from Clifton Street in the Manningham ward, removing a total of 14 vehicles in a coordinated enforcement operation on Thursday.

What officers found

Members of the council’s Parking, Cleansing and Highway Enforcement services worked alongside officers from West Yorkshire Police’s Bradford West district. During the operation officers determined that 12 of the vehicles were untaxed and a further two were abandoned. Several vehicles also had outstanding penalty charge notices for parking in resident permit bays.

“The road has now been cleared and will be subject to regular inspections,”

The street was targeted after complaints and routine checks identified a concentration of problem vehicles that were contributing to local nuisance and obstructing permit holders. Enforcement notices were placed on vehicles while checks were carried out and recovery was arranged where appropriate.

Why the action was taken

Local officials said the clearance formed part of wider efforts to tackle abandoned and untaxed vehicles, reduce blight on residential streets and ensure that permit bays remain available for local people. The operation also sought to address safety and cleanliness concerns raised by residents.

  • Location: Clifton Street, Manningham ward

What residents need to know
