The latest NHS England GP Patient Survey for 2026 reveals a marked disparity in patient satisfaction between GP surgeries across Croydon. Conducted between January and April 2026, the borough-wide survey collected thousands of responses from registered patients and asked them to rate their overall experience of their practice, including access to appointments, communication with staff and the standard of care.
High performers and those trailing behind
At the upper end of the borough’s rankings, Farley Road Medical Practice emerged with the strongest endorsement: 97% of patients described their overall experience as good. Close behind were Queenhill Medical Practice at 96% and both Tamar Medical Centre and Featherstone on 95%.
By contrast, a number of surgeries recorded substantially lower proportions of positive responses. Country Park Practice recorded the lowest overall score in Croydon at 60%, with Woodcote Medical on 62%. The report also notes that Thornton Heath Medical Centre and London Road Medical Practice were among those where fewer than seven in ten patients rated their experience positively.
- Survey period: January–April 2026.
- Assessment based on patients rating their experience as “Very good” or “Fairly good”.
- Results are published at the level of individual surgeries and grouped by Primary Care Networks (PCNs).
What the numbers show
These figures give patients and commissioners a practice-level snapshot of how local primary care is performing in the eyes of those who use it. The survey covers several dimensions of care, but the overall rating used in the rankings concentrates on patients’ global view of the practice.

Local context and consequences
Practices in Croydon are organised into several Primary Care Networks (PCNs) covering areas such as Thornton Heath, Purley and New Addington. These networks are intended to coordinate services between GP surgeries and other local providers, and the survey results will be used by commissioners, PCNs and individual practices to identify where targeted improvements are needed.
For residents, the published rankings offer a tool to compare practices on patient experience. For practices with lower ratings, the figures may prompt reviews of appointment systems, communication processes and patient engagement. For high-scoring surgeries, the data provide evidence of patient confidence that can be drawn on when planning service changes or seeking additional resources.
The full list of Croydon surgeries and their individual scores is published as part of the NHS England GP Patient Survey release. Local NHS commissioners and practice managers will now consider the findings as they plan improvements ahead of the next survey cycle.
