Mansfield finalist set for Birmingham stage
Mansfield’s own Macey Shaw has secured a place in the Homecare’s Got Talent 2026 grand final, earning a second consecutive shot at the title after also reaching the final in 2025. She will perform in front of a live audience and a celebrity judging panel at The Crescent Theatre, Birmingham, on Friday 7 August 2026.
Shaw is one of 12 acts selected from across the UK, representing a spread of performance styles from solo singers and musical duos to dance and drag. Organisers say the event shines a light on people who work in the homecare sector, celebrating the talents they bring beyond their day-to-day roles supporting others.
What the judges will be looking for
The final will be decided by a four-strong panel: Kuill, known for appearing on The Voice UK; Becky Measures, the BBC Radio presenter; Jay Aston of Bucks Fizz; and acclaimed guitarist Dave Colquhoun. The panel will choose this year’s winner from a line-up that, organisers say, reflects communities nationwide.
“Every year, this competition reminds us just how much creativity, personality and confidence exists across the homecare sector. Our finalists spend their working lives caring for and supporting other people, but Homecare’s Got Talent gives us the chance to celebrate who they are beyond their day jobs.”
That is the view of Dan Archer, UK CEO of Visiting Angels and founder of the competition, who praised the finalists for bringing their off-duty skills to the stage.
Spotlight on local pride
For Mansfield readers, Shaw’s place in the final offers a welcome moment to rally behind a hometown performer. The contest is explicitly designed to showcase the creativity that flourishes within the UK’s homecare workforce. While the day job can be demanding, the competition places these individuals centre stage, recognising not just their professional dedication but their cultural and artistic contributions too.
Shaw’s back-to-back appearances in the grand final underline both consistency and resilience in a national field. For many in the audience, the appeal lies in seeing everyday professionals step into the limelight—proof that talent thrives in settings far removed from traditional performance schools or circuits.

About the competition
Homecare’s Got Talent was created to champion the personalities and hidden abilities of people working across the UK’s homecare sector. Finalists progress through earlier stages by impressing judges with performance quality and stagecraft, culminating in a single night where the winner is chosen from the national shortlist.
- 12 finalists from across the UK make the final bill.
- Acts include solo singers, musical duos, dance and drag.
- Purpose: to celebrate the creativity of those who support others in their working lives.
While the result will be decided in Birmingham, the journey has already sparked local pride. For Mansfield, Shaw’s run to the final is a reminder that national stages are within reach for performers from our own streets—something many will be keen to acknowledge from the Crescent Theatre stalls this August.
