Club and player part ways after turbulent two seasons
The forward who emerged as one of Wrexham AFC's most recognisable figures since the 2021 takeover has left the Racecourse Ground after a mutual agreement to end his deal. Paul Mullin — brought in during the co-owners' first summer at the club as a marquee signing — is now without a club ahead of the 2026/27 campaign.

Injury, loss of form and loan moves
The player's difficulties began during Wrexham's first season in League One for 2024/25. He sustained an injury early in that campaign and, after returning to fitness, found it hard to regain his previous scoring form. Following the fixture at Stevenage on 28 January 2025, manager Phil Parkinson dropped Mullin from the matchday squad and the striker did not appear again in the league that season as Wrexham moved on to secure promotion to the Championship.
With limited prospects of re-entering the first-team plans, Mullin spent subsequent periods on loan. He was first sent to Wigan Athletic, where he began well but then lost his place. He was recalled to Wrexham during the January 2026 transfer window and later spent the second half of that season at Bradford City, where he made nine appearances without scoring.
