Motorists and bus passengers using the B5605 Wrexham Road should note the temporary traffic management in place for resurfacing work will be lifted for the coming weekend before the scheme resumes next week.
Weekend reopening and what to expect
The stretch of road between Rhostyllen and Johnstown that has been operating as a one-way carriageway will be returned to two-way traffic from later today (Friday, July 31). The temporary suspension follows the completion of a final small area of surfacing on the route, allowing normal flows through the weekend and on Monday.
When the restrictions return
Contractors will reintroduce the one-way system at 6am on Tuesday 4 August. The traffic control will remain in force until the resurfacing contract is concluded on Tuesday 11 August. During that interval, access towards Wrexham and the A483 will be subject to the diversion route put in place to maintain progress and safety.
Public transport changes and diversion details
Arriva services affected by the programme will operate their usual timetables while the one-way restriction is lifted. However, bus routes will revert to the diversion pattern once the control is reinstated on 4 August.
- Services resuming normal routing for the weekend: 2, 2A, 2C, 3, 4A, 4C, 5 and 6.
- When works restart, services towards Wrexham will follow the diversions shown below and some will serve a temporary stop on Park Street.
