A Doncaster hair salon badly damaged when a car ploughed into it during a police chase has reopened at new premises after moving from Thorne Road.
Final crash prompts relocation
Hair Studio, previously based on Thorne Road, endured three separate incidents in which vehicles collided with the corner building. The latest of those crashes, in August last year, was what the owner describes as the decisive factor in seeking new premises.
Owner Julie Edwards closed the salon on 31 December to allow repairs to be carried out, but extended delays meant the refurbishment was not finished. Faced with ongoing disruption and the strain of operating from a site repeatedly affected by accidents, she decided to move the business to Boundary Avenue in Wheatley Hills.
"We had to make a sink or swim decision," Julie said. "We're a great team and are delighted to be open for business once again."
Team rebuilds and looks to grow
The new, larger premises are intended to give the salon space to expand and to welcome both existing clients and newcomers. The team has also been strengthened with the addition of stylist Kelly, who previously worked at En Vogue salon.
