For tens of thousands of pupils across Scotland — including those in the Falkirk district — the wait for exam outcomes ends on Tuesday, 4 August, when Scottish Qualifications Certificates will be delivered.
How results will arrive
Around 148,000 learners nationwide will receive a paper copy of their certificate through the post. Many candidates, however, will learn their results earlier on the morning of Tuesday if they have registered for a My Qualifications Scotland account and opted to receive results by text and/or email.
What qualifications are being issued
Certificates being issued cover a range of academic and vocational routes, including:
- Nationals
- Highers
- Advanced Highers
- Apprenticeships and workplace-based awards such as Skills for Work, National Progression Awards and National Certificates
Results will determine the next steps for many young people — returning to school, moving on to college or university, or entering employment or training.

Qualifications Scotland has made several services available on results day to help learners who have questions or who wish to challenge a result.

The free appeals service becomes available at 9am on 4 August. Learners may submit appeals directly through the Qualifications Scotland website or ask their school, college or training provider to do so on their behalf.
Practical advice for pupils and families
- Check whether you signed up for My Qualifications Scotland to receive electronic notification on the morning of results day.
- If results arrive by post, allow for postal delivery timings on Tuesday.
