Local athletes add three more medals to Loughborough’s Commonwealth record
Three athletes with Loughborough connections returned from Glasgow with medals after a strong evening of competition at the Tollcross International Swimming Centre. The haul comprised one silver and two bronze medals, won across relay and individual events.
Current master’s student Max Litchfield delivered the anchor leg as part of Team England’s Men’s 4x200m freestyle relay, touching in 1:48.65 to help his side claim the silver. In the same relay, fellow Loughborough student Tyler Melbourne-Smith finished in bronze position for Wales after holding off a late challenge from the host nation. Australia won the race.
