A 66-year-old man has died following a collision on the B7020 near Kinnel Hook, close to Lochmaben, Dumfries and Galloway.

Emergency services attended the scene after reports of a crash at about 10.20am on Sunday 19 July. The driver of a white Ford Transit van was declared dead at the scene and his family have been informed.
The road was closed while officers carried out an examination of the scene and was later reopened at around 4.30pm.

Police appeal and next steps
Local officers have launched enquiries to establish the circumstances leading to the collision. Sergeant Lindsey Tait offered condolences to the family and has asked for their privacy to be respected while investigations continue.
“Our thoughts are with the family of the man who has died and they have asked for privacy at this time. Our enquiries are ongoing to establish the full circumstances and we are appealing to anyone who saw what happened to get in touch.”
