Greater Manchester Police have charged a man following the discovery of firearms and ammunition during a search of a property on Crowngreen Road in Eccles.
Police search uncovers weapons and other items
Officers attended the quiet cul-de-sac on Wednesday 8 July to carry out searches both inside the house and in the garden. Specialist search teams, crime-scene investigators and Tactical Aid Unit vans were seen in the street while a digger was used to excavate a large area of the garden as part of the enquiries.
As a result of the operation, a number of firearms and ammunition were recovered. Greater Manchester Police confirmed charges have been brought in connection with the discovery.
Charges and court appearance
David White, aged 57, of Crowngreen Road, Eccles, has been charged with:
- two counts of possession of a firearm
- one count of possession of ammunition
- possession of an offensive weapon in a private place
- possession of Class B drugs
He was remanded in custody and appeared at Manchester Magistrates’ Court on 22 July 2026.
