The former Poundland unit on Victoria Road in Ferndown will be transformed into a 24-hour Snap Fitness gym later this year, the national operator has confirmed. The facility will occupy more than 10,000 sq ft across two floors and is expected to create local employment when it opens in late autumn.

Company information indicates the Ferndown site will join two existing Dorset branches, in Christchurch and Winton, and will be the first under this particular franchisee. Planned amenities for members include:

- Infrared sauna and a recovery zone
- Reformer Pilates studio with touchscreen access to more than 800 on-demand workouts
- Equipment from recognised manufacturers such as Life Fitness and Hammer Strength
Classes and the facilities will be accessible at all hours, and members will be able to use Snap Fitness's wider network of gyms internationally.
