Appeal launched after serious assault on The Esplanade
Dorset Police have issued a public appeal after two young men were left with serious injuries following an incident on The Esplanade in Weymouth. Officers say the assault happened at around 4.30am on Sunday 5 July, when an altercation broke out on the seafront and two bystanders, aged 19 and 20, stepped in and were then attacked.
Both victims required medical treatment, according to police. As part of their enquiries, officers have released an image of three people they would like to identify in connection with the investigation. The force is asking anyone who recognises them, or who has information about what happened, to get in touch.
Police constable Chloe Seaward, of Weymouth police, said: "I am carrying out an investigation to try and identify those involved. As part of my enquiries, I am issuing an image of three people I would like to speak to and would ask anyone who recognises them to please come forward."
