Organisers of the Big Plymouth Ride are inviting bikers across the region to take part in this year’s charity run, aiming to build on an event that has grown since 2020. The ride, scheduled for Sunday 16 August, begins at Lee Mill and finishes on the Barbican, with donations collected for FND Action UK, a patient-led charity supporting people with Functional Neurological Disorder.
When and where
Riders are asked to assemble at 10:00am on North Road in the Lee Mill industrial estate, with stands up and departure slated for 11:30am. The procession will follow the A38 to the Marley Head turn-off, cross the bridge and return towards Plymouth on the A38 before diverting at the Marsh Mills slip road. From there the route runs down the Embankment, along Exeter Street, left into Bretonside and into the Barbican where the ride will conclude.
"This ride has always been a good turn out, but let's make this year bigger and better than the last," said organiser Lee Garlick, urging riders to be prepared and considerate on the route.
Charity and organisation
The event will be supported on the day by Original Ridesafe and 77 Images Photography, who will be taking entry shots at Lee Mill. Collection buckets will be in place on arrival, with organisers suggesting a minimum donation of £2. All funds raised on the day will go to FND Action UK.

Practical details
Organisers have emphasised that the ride is modelled on the previous Megaride route to accommodate spectators who traditionally line parts of the course. Once the procession arrives on the Barbican the formal ride ends and participants are free to make their own arrangements.
