Officials also reported further strikes elsewhere: Russian forces were said to have hit a shopping centre in Zaporizhzhia late on Friday, causing a fire that burned across about 500 square metres and injuring several people. In another incident near Kyiv, a major attack on a site hosting a defence-industry event was reported to have killed at least 10 people and wounded nearly 100.
"Intelligence assessments indicated that Russia was preparing missiles for a large attack… this could happen in the next 48 hours," Ukraine’s president warned in an evening address.

Separately, Romania's defence ministry said its forces had "safely shot down" a drone that breached Romanian airspace in an unpopulated zone near the Ukrainian border.
