Cheshire Police have arrested a man in connection with a series of alleged vehicle crimes affecting Warrington and neighbouring towns after an appeal using CCTV footage.

Officers received multiple reports of vehicles being interfered with and items taken from cars in the Great Sankey area during the early hours of Saturday, 25 July. Following an appeal for assistance using CCTV images, a suspect was identified and located at an address in Widnes on Friday morning.
“In the last 10 days, we have had multiple reports of thefts from motor vehicles and attempts to break into cars in the Great Sankey area,” the Warrington West Police team said, adding they had worked closely with colleagues across the Widnes and Runcorn border.
The force confirmed the individual has been charged with more than 40 offences spanning Warrington, Widnes and Runcorn and has been remanded in custody. Police thanked members of the public who supplied footage and assisted the investigation.
