The court heard that Darren Lewis, 52, and his wife had been drinking in a pub in Knighton, Powys, on 17 December 2024 when an argument occurred. Lewis returned home alone, but the victim later arrived at his flat and a further confrontation took place.
During the incident, Lewis pushed his wife to the floor, causing her to strike the back of her head. He then stamped repeatedly on the left side of her chest and torso. Neighbours heard the victim screaming and one neighbour later told police they feared for her life.
