Police confirm serious assault; cordon in place
Staffordshire Police said they were called to the scene following reports that a man had been stabbed. Officers attended along with colleagues from West Midlands Ambulance Service. A policing spokesman stated the force is "currently dealing with a serious assault on Ridgway Road." The force has appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
At the time of the initial reports the incident was said to have occurred at around 7.40pm. Members of the public reported seeing a cordon placed around parts of Hanley Park, which remained taped off while officers carried out enquiries.
