A substantial new Home Bargains store will open on the Team Valley trading estate in Gateshead on Saturday 1 August, the retailer has confirmed.
Former Homebase unit repurposed
The outlet occupies the site previously used by Homebase and has been refitted over recent weeks. The redevelopment has restored activity to the large, vacant unit and introduces several features intended to broaden the store’s appeal.
Among the additions is a dedicated GardenWorld area, located in the space formerly used for outdoor garden products, and an on-site café. The café menu will include budget-friendly options, such as breakfast sandwiches priced at £1.99, according to the store’s opening information.
What shoppers can expect
Customers can anticipate the full range of goods Home Bargains is known for: homewares, toiletries, toys and a larger food selection including frozen and fresh items and a bakery. The new branch’s signage promotes “top brands – bottom prices”.
