Emergency services discovered a vehicle off the road in a paddock on Willow Road at about 3am on Monday, after a reported single-vehicle crash in which a 13-year-old boy died at the scene.
What happened
Police and first responders attended the paddock and found the Toyota Kluger away from the carriageway. The teenage passenger, aged 13, was given immediate treatment by responders but could not be revived and was pronounced dead at the scene.
A 14-year-old male occupant was arrested where the vehicle was found and was taken to hospital under police guard with leg injuries. Officers believe two further occupants were in the vehicle at the time of the collision but left the scene before police arrived.
Subsequent arrests and inquiries
Following inquiries, police arrested another 14-year-old boy and an 18-year-old man. Both were taken to John Hunter Hospital under police guard.

- Police say the Kluger had been reported stolen from the Swansea area between 10pm on Sunday and 3am on Monday.
- Lake Macquarie officers established a crime scene and the Crash Investigation Unit is now examining the circumstances of the collision.
