The Trentham Bowls Club staged a fundraising marathon that has so far netted more than £5,000 for local sight-loss charity Berkshire Vision. The event, held on Friday 10 July, paired a continuous 12-hour bowling effort with a parallel dodecathlon of activities at a neighbouring venue.
What happened at the challenge
Six bowlers began at 6am and played through the day, coping with the summer temperatures to keep the green active for the full period. Across the town, participants at the Cotswold Sports Centre tackled a variety of activities including table tennis, netball and self-defence to contribute to the fundraising total.
