Two people were left with serious injuries after a collision on the M3 northbound between junctions 12 (Allbrook Interchange) and 11 (Winchester) on Sunday morning, Hampshire Constabulary has confirmed. Paramedics took an 80-year-old woman who had been a passenger in the Skoda, and a 28-year-old man who had been a passenger in the BMW, to hospital with serious injuries. The collision occurred between 11.40am and 11.50am on Sunday 19 July.

A 24-year-old man from London was arrested at the scene. He is suspected of multiple driving-related offences, including:

He has been released on police bail while enquiries continue and is due to return to police on 19 October.
