The Wakefield Place Workforce Transformation Hub’s programme to boost staff health and working conditions has been shortlisted in the Health and Wellbeing category at the Healthcare People Management Association (HPMA) Excellence in People Awards.
Local partners win national recognition
The entry, known locally as Healthy Working Lives, brings together health and care organisations across the Wakefield district to deliver practical support for staff wellbeing. The nomination recognises the hub’s collaborative approach to workforce health and aims to highlight how joint working can make daily working life better for frontline teams.
Representatives from partner organisations met the HPMA judging panel last week to outline the programme’s work and its impact on staff across the district. Presenting on behalf of the hub were Dominic Blaydon, Wakefield Place PMO Lead; Phillip Marshall, director of workforce and organisational development at Mid Yorkshire Teaching NHS Trust; and Dr Linda Harris, chief executive of Spectrum Community Health CIC, who is a co-responsible officer for the hub.
“We are delighted that Wakefield’s Healthy Working Lives initiative has been shortlisted for this prestigious national award,” said Dr Linda Harris. “I am incredibly proud of the strong collaboration across our health and care partners, which has placed staff health and wellbeing at the heart of everything we do. This recognition highlights the real difference we are making to the lives of our workforce, supporting them to thrive and, in turn, deliver the best possible care for the people of Wakefield.”
