Ben Wakerley, managing director of Warrington’s Own Buses, has been named Passenger Transport Leader of the Year at the 2026 Leadership in Passenger Transport Awards (LiPTA).
National recognition for local improvements
The awards, organised by Transport Events Group, were presented in July at indigo at The O2 in London. Judges highlighted Wakerley’s collaborative work with Warrington Borough Council and the operator’s recent programme of improvements across the borough.
