Wet Wet Wet have added Stockton-on-Tees to the itinerary for their upcoming 40th anniversary tour, bringing a celebratory performance to The Globe on 23 February 2027. The band will also appear at The Glasshouse, Gateshead later in the year as part of the same tour which spans more than 40 dates across the UK.
Tour celebrates debut album and long career
The trek marks four decades since the release of the band’s debut long-player, Popped In Souled Out, which propelled the group to the top of the UK Albums Chart and contained a string of early hits. The 2027 shows are planned in two blocks, with performances scheduled in February and again in October.
The current line-up set to perform includes founding member and bassist Graeme Clark, guitarist Graeme Duffin and lead vocalist Kevin Simm. Promoters say each concert will feature songs from the debut album alongside other well-known material from the band’s catalogue.
"When we made Popped In Souled Out, I was just a young guy... Forty years later, those songs have taken on a life of their own," said Graeme Clark.
Support and special guests
Selected dates on the tour will include appearances from a number of guest acts, offering audiences a varied bill. Names confirmed for particular nights include:
- Roachford
- Nick Heyward
- Rebecca Ferguson
- Heather Small
- Johnny Hates Jazz
- The Christians
- The South
This mix of support acts means some shows will have a broader lineup beyond Wet Wet Wet’s headline slot, while other dates will focus solely on the headliners.
