The Cabinet of Bridgend County Borough Council will meet on 21 July to consider proposals to change how supported living services are commissioned for people with physical or learning disabilities, autism and complex needs. The service currently supports 89 people across the county borough.
What the proposals would change
The authority says the supported living service helps people live independently in their own homes by providing tailored care for day-to-day living, housing management and support with community integration. The current model is delivered across seven geographic localities and the council is proposing to retain a locality-based approach while broadening eligibility so support is based on individual needs rather than diagnosis.
- Retender the General Supported Living Service as the present contract comes to an end.

As part of a pre-market engagement exercise, the council reports that 17 potential providers expressed interest. Cabinet will be asked to approve recommissioning the service and to invite tenders for delivery on the proposed four-year basis.
