Fire crews attended a shed and outbuilding fire on Strathmore Road in Hinckley on Saturday afternoon, after flames were first reported at around 3.20pm.
Response and actions at the scene
A Leicestershire Fire and Rescue Service (LFRS) spokesman said three fire crews from nearby stations were mobilised and used main hose reel jets to extinguish the blaze. At its height, smoke was visible spiralling into the air and ash settled across parts of the town.
"The flames quickly spread to the rear garden of the property. Three fire crews from stations in the area attended the blaze and used main hose reel jets to put out the flames."
By 6pm crews remained at the scene carrying out damping-down operations. LFRS said they planned to return later in the evening to reinspect the site and ensure no hot spots remained.

Local reports indicate that no evacuations were necessary and, importantly, no injuries were sustained. The cause of the fire has not been disclosed; LFRS has said an investigation will take place.
