Greater Manchester Police (GMP) have arrested a man in his 20s on suspicion of two counts of attempted rape after two separate sexual assaults were reported in Rochdale early on Saturday morning.
Incidents in town centre and Milnrow
The first attack was reported to police after 6:15am at Broadfield Park in Rochdale town centre. A second report, made at around 8:38am, concerned an attack in Milnrow Memorial Park. GMP said the two assaults are being treated as linked.

Suspect description and arrest
Officers previously appealed for information about a black male seen wearing what was described as a three-piece suit or smart black clothes and a dark coat, and reportedly carrying a briefcase. CCTV enquiries identified a man leaving the Coco Lounge in Rochdale at about 5am, which formed part of the force’s inquiries.
In an update issued on Saturday evening GMP said a man in his 20s had been arrested on suspicion of two counts of attempted rape and remains in custody for questioning while enquiries continue.
