The Mansfield Playhouse is to stage an unusual blend of theatre and real-life celebration this weekend when the marriage of Tiffini Lance and Drew Anderson takes place on its main stage — and the public are invited to attend.
Performance that is also a legal ceremony
Described simply as The Day Of: The Live Wedding Ceremony of Tiffini Lance and Drew Anderson, the event has been written and directed by Anderson and will be held at 6pm on Saturday. Tickets are being sold to the public at a price of $12 each, which includes a $2 online service charge, with proceeds earmarked for the Mansfield Playhouse.
The choice of venue has close personal connections for the couple. Lance first saw her mother get engaged on the Playhouse's Second Stage more than a decade ago while Natalie McCracken was performing. The Playhouse also played a part in how the pair met: Anderson and Lance crossed paths during the 2025 production of Dracula: A Comedy of Terrors, and their relationship developed thereafter.
"She was like, 'You did a great job in Dracula. And I just never stopped talking to her,'" Anderson recalled of their early conversations.
According to the couple's account, the connection deepened online as well as in person. They ultimately became a couple and Anderson proposed in April. He said the Playhouse was one of his first suggestions when discussing venues because of its sentimental value and his desire for some theatrical production value on the day.
