Nottinghamshire have moved swiftly to bolster their One-Day Cup line-up by signing Pakistan white-ball international Tayyab Tahir for the county's next three group fixtures.
Short-term signing to cover international call-up
Tahir, 33, is expected to be available for Nottinghamshire's game at Beckenham on Sunday and for matches against Northamptonshire and Gloucestershire later in the week. He has been drafted in as a replacement for opener George Munsey, who is away on international duty with Scotland.
The batter also bowls leg-spin and has represented Pakistan in both limited-overs formats, having featured in 11 One-Day Internationals and eight T20 internationals for his country. His arrival reunites him with Paul Franks, Nottinghamshire's 50-over head coach, following their previous spell together at Central Punjab four years ago.
"I loved playing under Franksie in Pakistan, and the season we were together was one of the best I've had in my life," Tahir said on Nottinghamshire's website. "He was so approachable and created a really good environment. I will try my best to make a difference, and I want to make sure my time with Notts is memorable."
