Commuters and casual travellers are being urged to allow extra time and check before travelling as a wave of roadworks and closures across Nottinghamshire disrupts a number of bus routes this week.
Widespread closures affecting several services
Operators say routes serving Arnold, East Leake, Bilborough, Lowdham, Newark and West Bridgford are among those likely to face diversions, missed stops or timetable changes.
Planned works include daytime closures, overnight surfacing and longer-term engineering at a major junction. Key items scheduled this week include:
- Kirk Ley Road, East Leake: closed from 3–7 August — impacts the number 1 service.
- Woodthorpe Drive slip road: closed from 3–7 August — affects the 25B.
- Cockington Road, Bilborough: daytime work from 3–18 August — disruption to the 28 and 35.
- Gedling Road, Arnold: overnight closures from 3–21 August — affects the 56 and 59.
- London Road, Newark: overnight closures affecting the 90 between 3 August and 4 September.

Longer projects and existing closures
Passengers using the 26 service will see disruption beyond temporary closures because of major works at Lowdham Roundabout, a project that begins on 3 August and is expected to continue for about 13 months. Meanwhile, the closure of Trent Boulevard, which started on 13 July, is still in force and affects the 11 and C services.
At Nottingham City Hospital, the ongoing closure of Linden Way remains in place until further notice and is disrupting the 40A route.
