Newcastle Racecourse is preparing to welcome what organisers say could be the biggest Ladies Day in more than a decade when Gosforth Park opens its gates on Saturday, 25 July. The flagship social and fashion event combines an afternoon of thoroughbred racing with the long‑running best‑dressed competition, the Style Awards, and is expected to attract in excess of 20,000 racegoers.

Gates will open at 11:00 and the racecard features seven contests staged between early afternoon and early evening. Organisers have reported exceptionally strong demand for grandstand and premium seating and are urging anyone planning to attend to secure tickets promptly.

Paul Elliot, executive director at Newcastle Racecourse, described the level of interest as remarkable and said the team had introduced a number of new hospitality and entertainment options for 2026.
"The demand for Ladies Day this year has been incredible, and we're expecting to sell out for the first time in years. We've introduced some fantastic new additions to the event this year with brand new food, drink and post‑racing experiences for racegoers to enjoy,"
Alongside the racing, the Style Awards return with a record prize fund of more than £11,000 to be awarded to the top 10 best‑dressed guests. Spotters from a regional modelling agency will be looking through the crowd and entrants are advised to have their photograph taken in the Grandstand Hall before judging in the Parade Ring.

Organisers report that around 95% of Grandstand tickets have already gone and that Premier tickets are expected to sell out soon. Those wishing to avoid queues can purchase a priority entry ticket for £10 before Friday, while drinks promotions will run in the first hour after gates open.
