Police have arrested six men following a reported stabbing on London Road, Portsmouth that left a 19-year-old with injuries to his head and hand. Emergency services were called shortly after 8pm on Thursday 30 July, and the victim was taken to hospital with what officers described as serious but not life-threatening wounds.
Multiple arrests made as investigation continues
Officers say the incident prompted a dedicated investigation which led to the detention of six males. A police statement confirmed a number of suspects were being questioned on suspicion of a variety of offences. At the time the force released details, some remained in custody while enquiries continued to establish the full circumstances surrounding the attack.

The arrests reported by the force included people from different areas, with several of those detained from Birmingham and one from Croydon. Two 17-year-olds were among those arrested; one of them has since been released without further action, according to police.

Police have said that two of the 17-year-olds and the 23-year-old were later released from custody and will face no further action in relation to these arrests. The force stressed that enquiries remain ongoing and appealed for anyone with information to come forward.
