A 79-year-old Stockton man has admitted the murder of his 77-year-old wife after her body was discovered at their home in the town earlier this year. The defendant, Michael Wall of Hillcrest Avenue, entered the guilty plea at Teesside Crown Court on Thursday.

Cleveland Police were called to the address shortly before 01:00 on 15 March when officers found the victim, named in court as Dorothy Wall, deceased inside the property. At the short hearing, the court was told the killing occurred sometime between 12 and 16 March.
The defendant was remanded into custody after the plea and will return to court for sentencing on 5 October.
