Three men have died after a two‑vehicle collision on a village road in Hertfordshire late on Wednesday evening.

Crash on Cory Wright Way

Emergency services were called to Cory Wright Way, Wheathampstead, at about 9.38pm on 22 July following a collision involving a silver Vauxhall Astra and a grey BMW 840i. The three men who were travelling in the Astra, described as being in their 30s, 40s and 50s, were pronounced dead at the scene. Formal identification has not yet taken place, but police say next of kin have been informed.

Road closures that were put in place after the incident have since been lifted. Officers are continuing enquiries to establish the full circumstances of the crash.

Police appeal for witnesses

Detective Constable Lewis Stanley, leading the investigation, expressed condolences to the victims' families and urged anyone with information to come forward.

“Firstly, I wish to share my condolences with the family and friends of those who lost their lives in last night’s collision. They are being supported by our specialist officers at this incredibly distressing time. If you saw what happened and are yet to speak to police, please report it.”
