Wayne Madsen marked his 100th List A appearance for Derbyshire with a composed century as the Derbyshire Falcons trounced Sussex Sharks by 188 runs in a Group B Metro Bank One-Day Cup fixture at the OurCoop County Ground.

The 42-year-old Madsen finished unbeaten on 104 off 96 balls, guiding Derbyshire to a commanding total of 325 for 7. His innings combined careful placement with inventive strokeplay as he shepherded the innings through the middle and late overs. Ross Whiteley provided brisk lower-order impetus, hitting 33 from 18 balls, including a punishing 45th over that yielded 30 runs.
Bowling attack and fielding set up sizeable target
