Police Scotland is investigating after a 44-year-old woman was found with serious injuries at a property in Craigievar Square, Edinburgh, on Monday evening and was later pronounced dead.
What happened
Emergency services attended the address at around 8.45pm on Monday, 20 July following reports of a disturbance. The woman was found at the scene and despite efforts by paramedics was pronounced dead. Officers said the victim has been named as Vikki and that her family have been made aware.
Police response and arrest
A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the incident, and enquiries are ongoing. Police presence remains in the Craigievar Square area to support local residents and to continue investigative work.
"Our thoughts and condolences are with Vikki’s family, who have requested privacy at this difficult time," Detective Inspector Mark McGraw said.
Detective Inspector McGraw added that officers will be available to speak with members of the public in the area and urged anyone with information to get in touch.
