Leicestershire Police are appealing for witnesses after a woman in her 50s was assaulted and robbed in Oadby town centre earlier this month. The incident took place at about 3pm on Monday 13 July on The Parade, where the victim was approached from behind and pushed to the ground while a gold necklace was taken.

Police seek footage and witnesses

Officers say the offender left the scene without the necklace after it fell to the ground during his escape. No arrests have been reported and detectives are asking anyone who saw the incident, or who may have captured it on mobile phone, doorbell, dashcam or CCTV, to come forward.

“I’d like to speak to anyone with information about this incident who can help. This includes anyone who witnessed the incident or captured anything on a mobile phone, dashcam, CCTV or doorbell camera. Anything you’re able to provide could assist our investigation.”

The appeal was made public by Detective Constable Katie Burn, who is leading enquiries. Members of the public with relevant information have been asked to contact Leicestershire Police quoting reference 26*413791, or to call 101.
