Wrexham Council has announced that household waste and recycling collections will begin earlier than normal next week as a spell of hot, dry weather persists across the county borough.
Collections to start by 6am — residents urged to prepare the night before
Council officers say crews will start work earlier to avoid the warmest hours of the day. Residents have been asked to place bins and recycling out the night before, ensuring they are ready for collection by 6am.
The Met Office forecast supplied by the council indicates a run of above‑average temperatures, with an expected maximum of around 24–25°C on Monday and Tuesday, rising into the mid-to-upper 20s°C by midweek and staying warm into Friday. Night‑time lows are forecast to remain mild, in the mid‑teens.
"The hot weather is expected to continue and these early measures will assist our crews. Please put out your bins and recycling as early as possible to avoid missed collections."
