Police inquiries into the circumstances of collisions typically consider witness accounts, vehicle examinations and any available camera footage.
Anyone with information, however small it may seem, is asked to get in touch so investigators can build a clearer picture of what happened. The force has emphasised both the need to support the family of the deceased and the importance of establishing the facts surrounding the crash.
Further updates will be published as the investigation progresses and as police are able to release more information.
