A Bradford dental practice is staging a Free Community Dental Open Day aimed at people who are finding it difficult to access NHS dentistry because of cost or other pressures. The event, run by Brilliant Healthy Smiles (BHS) on Kirkgate, is scheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) and will provide free consultations and, when clinically appropriate, treatment on the same day.

The practice has made clear the initiative is intended to help those on low incomes and people claiming benefits, including Universal Credit and Personal Independence Payment (PIP), as well as individuals experiencing homelessness. BHS said the aim is to remove financial and access barriers so people can get prompt dental care.

Brilliant Healthy Smiles was opened earlier this year by Bradford‑born dentist and entrepreneur Dr Syed Fraz Ali. The clinic says more than 1,000 people registered ahead of its launch and operates a membership model for adults while offering free treatment for under‑18s, using NHS Band 1, 2 and 3 pricing structures for treatment fees.
"At Brilliant Healthy Smiles, we believe everyone deserves access to quality dental care, regardless of their financial circumstances," said Dr Fraz, describing the open day as a way of giving back to the community.

Those attending the open day will be offered an initial clinical consultation at no charge. Where a dentist judges treatment to be necessary and it is feasible to provide it on the day, the practice will carry out treatment free of charge.
