Parts of West Cemetery in Darlington will be temporarily restricted from Monday 27 July as the council carries out resurfacing of the tarmac path in the New Garden of Remembrance.

Darlington Borough Council says the improvement scheme, which affects the garden opposite the cemetery car park on Carmel Road North, will take around a week to complete. While the garden will remain open to visitors during the works, contractors will cordon off certain sections to allow resurfacing to proceed safely.
"Starting on Monday (27 July), we'll be resurfacing the tarmac path in the New Garden of Remembrance at West Cemetery. This work will take a week. Access to the garden will still be possible, but this will be restricted, as some areas will need to be cordoned off while the work is carried out. Thank you for your patience and for taking extra care if visiting during the work to improve the New Garden of Remembrance."
