A developer has put forward proposals for 70 affordable homes on farmland at the southern edge of Evesham, a plan that would extend the town’s built-up area along Pershore Road.
Outline permission sought for 5.75ha site
Stonebond Properties has submitted an outline planning application to Wychavon District Council for land spanning about 5.75 hectares accessed from the B4084 Pershore Road. The site lies between existing housing off Stratford Grove and the Merry Brook, and sits opposite another Stonebond-backed scheme where 67 affordable homes are already being constructed to the north of Pershore Road in partnership with Platform Housing.
The application is at the outline stage, which means the council will be asked to consider high-level matters such as the site’s use and access rather than detailed house designs. If the council grants outline permission, Stonebond would still need to submit and secure approval of reserved matters — detailed plans for layout, appearance, landscaping, scale and access — before building could start.

Developer cites sustainability and local services
In supporting documents, Stonebond argues the location is well placed for homes because it would connect into existing footpaths, be within walking distance of public transport and be close enough to local schools, shops and health services to make it a sustainable location for housing.
The proposed access would be formed as a ghost island priority junction on Pershore Road, and would include a pedestrian refuge to help people cross the B4084 safely between the two sides of the road.
