Fire crews from North Wales Fire and Rescue Service remained at multiple wildfire scenes overnight as teams sought to bring blazes under control across parts of North Wales, including locations on Anglesey.
Where crews are working
Operations were reported at three principal locations: Pentrefelin, close to Holyhead; the Rhinogydd mountains near Cwm Bychan Lake; and on the mountain above Capelulo by Sychnant Pass. At Pentrefelin, crews were focusing on monitoring the area and extinguishing flare-ups as they appear. In the Rhinogydd, firefighters are working alongside staff from Natural Resources Wales to tackle the ongoing fire.

Public safety and co-ordination
Scottish Power was reported to be at the scene dealing with electric poles affected by the fires, while emergency services urged the public to give crews room to operate. The fire service made specific health and safety recommendations for those in affected areas.
"Residents and visitors in affected areas are advised to shelter indoors and keep windows and doors closed. Once the smoke has cleared, windows and doors should be reopened to ventilate properties. For further health and safety advice, please see Public Health Wales."
Authorities also noted reports of smoke in Flintshire and said it was believed to be drifting from a separate incident in the Manchester area; there were no ongoing incidents in Flintshire at the time of the statement. The fire service repeated its request that people avoid affected areas to allow emergency crews safe access and to ensure operational vehicles can reach the scene.
