A man has been given an 11-and-a-half-year prison term after a violent attack in Luton in which a friend was stabbed several times and shot in the back.
Attack at Repton Close and swift police response
The incident occurred at a house on Repton Close on 25 March 2025. Bedfordshire Police released body-worn camera footage showing the moment officers arrested 37‑year‑old Callun Bermingham, formerly of Belmont Road, Luton.
Court papers say Bermingham and the victim had been out together earlier in the night, drinking and taking drugs, before returning to the address. The victim sustained serious wounds and required hospital treatment for injuries described as life-threatening; he was later discharged.
Chase, crash and evidence found in vehicle
Officers located Bermingham’s car and pursued it. During the pursuit he drove the wrong way down a one-way street and collided with three parked vehicles before stopping and being arrested. Police said they found vodka and a firearm inside the car.
