Emergency services evacuated Moorways Sports Village and Water Park in Allenton on Thursday after a suspected chlorine leak, with 15 people taken to hospital for precautionary checks, Derbyshire Fire and Rescue has confirmed.

Firefighters were called to the centre in Moor Lane shortly before 2pm amid reports of people experiencing breathing difficulties. Crews from Ascot Drive and Kingsway attended, joined by teams from Nottinghamshire and a specialist Environmental Protection Unit based at Stockhill.
