Warwick District Council (WDC) has confirmed that both town centre paddling pools — St Nicholas Park, Warwick and Victoria Park, Leamington — have reopened to the public as of Wednesday.
What is open and when
The two small outdoor pools will operate daily from 10am to 6pm. They reopened following a period of fault rectification work that had repeatedly delayed their return to service after closures in 2024.

Council guidance and safety measures
WDC said both sites are likely to be busy in the coming days and asked visitors to follow simple precautions to keep the facilities safe and usable for all. The authority stressed that the paddling pools are not supervised, although a maintenance and care team will be on duty to monitor cleanliness and control visitor numbers.
"Both pools are expected to be very busy in the coming days. So that everyone can enjoy the facilities safely visitors are advised to wear non-slip pool shoes and not exceed the maximum capacity of 130 at Victoria Park and 70 at St Nicholas Park as this may impact the performance of the water features."
Advice issued by the council includes measures intended to reduce slips and manage queues during peak times.

Background to the delays
The reopenings follow several setbacks to the council’s upgrade scheme. Victoria Park’s paddling pool was closed for repairs in 2024 and St Nicholas Park was taken out of use at the end of the 2024 season. Both facilities had been due to reopen in May 2025, but problems with the upgrade and subsequent defect rectification programmes prevented an uninterrupted return to service. A planned reopening in July 2025 proved short-lived for Victoria Park and the Warwick facility remained unavailable until now.
The council has not published a detailed timetable for further work beyond the defect rectification, but the maintenance presence at the pools is intended to ensure the water features and surrounding areas remain clean and functional over the summer period.
Practical information for visitors
Visitors should expect high demand on warm days and consider visiting outside peak afternoon hours if possible. There is no lifeguard provision, so guardians should remain close to younger children. The council’s monitoring team will manage entry if the capacity limit is reached to protect the water systems and user safety.
