Southwell Racecourse has confirmed the Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire Air Ambulance (LNAA) as the official charity partner for its high-profile Ladies Day fixture this summer. The event, sponsored by the Newark Advertiser, takes place on Sunday 16 August 2026 and is the course’s biggest and most glamorous day of the year.
Life-saving service at the heart of the day
Race organisers say they want Ladies Day to be more than a celebration of racing and fashion: this year the focus will also be on supporting a local service that provides emergency medical care across both counties. The LNAA operates a helicopter emergency medical service delivering pre-hospital critical care to patients wherever they are needed.
Karen Jobling, chief executive of the LNAA, welcomed the partnership and underlined how vital local fundraising is to keeping crews operational. In a statement she said:
“Ladies Day is one of the highlights of the racing calendar, and we are thrilled to be working with Southwell Racecourse on this fantastic event. The support generated through this partnership will help ensure our highly skilled crews can continue saving lives across Lincolnshire and Nottinghamshire, wherever they are needed, 365 days a year.”
Kirsty Edwards, general manager at Southwell, said the racecourse is proud to support a local charity that delivers a life-saving service and hopes the association will both raise funds and boost awareness across the community.
