Initial figures recorded around 2,545 homes without electricity. By 13:50, supply had been restored to 481 properties, leaving an estimated 2,064 still affected while engineers worked on repairs.
"We know you're without power. We were alerted at 12:23pm this afternoon and our engineers are working to get your electricity back on as quickly as possible. We're sorry for the disruption."
In a later update posted at 12:48pm, National Grid provided an estimated restoration time of 3pm for the remaining properties, while cautioning that times could change if crews met unexpected challenges reaching the fault.
